The Faculty of Communication and Information Science at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is committed to advancing education, research, and innovation in line with the university’s vision and the Education 5.0 philosophy. Bringing together communication, information science, technology, and entrepreneurship, the Faculty aims to drive local industrialisation while contributing meaningfully to global knowledge and practice. The Faculty offers a full spectrum of programmes from undergraduate to PhD level, supported by over 45 academic staff and a growing body of more than 600 students. It has seen rising demand for programmes such as Journalism and Media Studies—strengthened by hands-on training opportunities at NUST FM—and new offerings including the MSc in Strategic Communication and the BSc in Information Management and Technology. Over the past five years, the Faculty has recorded significant growth in research output, with increased publications, conference contributions, and the successful hosting of its annual Communication and Information Science conference. Looking ahead, the Faculty continues to innovate, with new programmes in development such as the MSc in Communication for Innovation and Development, and Honours degrees in Strategic Communication, Film Production and Visual Effects, and Information Science and Knowledge Management. Through teaching, research, and industry engagement, the Faculty remains dedicated to shaping the future of technology-driven communication, media, and information science.
